With the many years of experience in the crane industry, Zeus Engineering Ltd. has been called on to carry out many unique services.  Aside from the various load cells owned by us for use during field-testing, Zeus Engineering Ltd. has considerable experience with design, fabrication and calibration of strain gauge based load cells.  This ability allows almost any component to be capable of sensing load and has proven invaluable for the purpose of crane load tests and load monitoring.

A Houston-based manufacturer of crane load indicators retained Zeus Engineering Ltd. to fabricate several load sensing pins as shown.  The multiple strain gauges were mounted within a 3/8" diameter hole through the pin center resulting in a very robust design.

A northern client had many overhead and jib cranes to proof load but space was limited and test weights could not be easily moved.  Zeus Engineering Ltd. designed a fragmented weight system that allowed the entire test weight to be moved by a single individual and yet achieve test weights up to 20 Tons.

A city wide maintenance facility required written safety procedures for use with all of their overhead lifting devices.  Zeus Engineering Ltd. prepared the adopted documentation that included lift procedures, maintenance targets and recommended inspection periods based on the usage and frequency of operation.
